How to Remedy a Green Pool
GREEN FREE
3 Step, 3 hour treatment of visible green algae for 50,000L
GLB's "Green Free" is specifically designed to treat pool water where green algae growth is visible.
It contains chemicals to help clear your water fast and is specially formulated to allow swimming
shortly after application. It is activated in the presence of chlorine, so it's combination with
a shock is essential. This new combination treatment can be used at any time during the day and
will close your pool down for only 3 hours if the directions are carefully followed. Treating
visible algae during sunlight hours is more effective and by doing so will increase the
efficiency of the procedure.
STEP 1
Brush infected areas thoroughly; this brushing removes the top layer of algae, which grows
upon itself and allows the root algae to be destroyed.
STEP 2
Add 150 gms of "GREEN FREE" to your pool water, disperse, paying particular attention to
the affected areas.
STEP 3
After 5 minutes add the chlorine.
- If using liquid chlorine add 5 liters.
- If using granular shock, dissolve 560 gms of chlorine.
Regardless of the method the shock should evenly be applied and dispersed throughout the entire pool.
FOLLOWING THIS METHOD IN ITS ENTIRETY SHOULD ALLOW SAFE SWIMMING TO BE RESUMED IN 3 HOURS!
*If cloudy water persists, alternative treatment is needed:
GLB Clear Blue can be added to help coagulate the fine floating particulates to aid the
filter in its cleansing. Add 2 oz or 50 ml into a bucket and thoroughly dilute
dispersing contents around pool edge or to filter for immediate improvement.
Swimming can be resumed after a grace period of 10 - 20 minutes.
**If clouding is severe and persists a treatment of "DROP N'VAC" is strongly suggested:
Add 400 mL of Drop N'Vac and dilute in bucket of water. Distribute the solution throughout
the pool. Allow the pump to run for 2 hours and then shut it off allowing materials not
caught by the filter to settle on the pool floor overnight.
In the morning the settle material can be easily removed, set your filter to the waste or
drain position and using your manual vacuum, vacuum the debris. Cleaning your filter
media is strongly recommended and can be easily done using GLB Filter Fresh or GLB Filter Cleanse.
